It is well known that LED lighting is a much more efficient and longer-lasting light source when compared to traditional lighting sources, and they are quickly making their way to a variety of different home and commercial applications. Here are just a few reasons why LED lighting is the better choice for your next lighting project.
Efficiency
It is well known that LED light fixtures are incredibly efficient, but did you also know that the efficiency can go up to 5x times the efficiency of Incandescent lighting? Our 15.5W A19 LED Light Bulbs, which are perfect for most Gooseneck Sign Lights, are the equivalent of a 100W Incandescent Light Bulb, meaning only about 16% of the wattage is needed to emit the same amount of light!
Longer Lifespans
One of the primary reasons why LED lights are chosen is for their longer lifespans and minimal maintenance. On average, LED light fixtures are known to last significantly longer than their traditional counterparts.
For example, our 4ft 24W T5 LED Tubes have a rated lifespan of 50,000+ Lifetime Hours. Compare that to a typical 4ft 54W Fluorescent Tube, which averages about 30,000 Lifetime Hours. Please note this only factors in the lifespan of the tubes, and doesn’t even consider any additional maintenance costs, such as the ballasts needed to power fluorescent tubes!
The materials used also play into the longevity of LED products, traditional light sources are typically held in fragile glass where most LED products do not use glass. LED products are also free of dangerous chemicals, such as mercury, which can be found in other light sources.
Versatile Applications
Something that is not as well-known about LED lighting is its versatility when it comes to different lighting projects. Traditional light sources were limited in scope based on the Correlated Color Temperature, or CCT, along with the amount of light that was emitted. With LED the sky’s the limit, as LEDs can be modified in different CCTs and used in different applications, such as Security Lighting, Sign Lighting, Indoor Lighting, and others!
Newer technologies have also made vast improvements such as CCT and Wattage Tuning, which can be seen in our 60W and 120W LED Wall Packs! These improvements mean that one fixture is able to provide the same function as up to 9x traditional light fixtures!
